Amherst, N.Y., May 1, 2026—Athena SWC is excited to announce it has acquired a portion of NgageContent’s operations, bringing content marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and website support capabilities fully in-house. The transition takes effect May 1, 2026.
The transition applies only to clients jointly served by Athena SWC and NgageContent. NgageContent’s existing client base will remain with NgageContent and is not impacted by the transaction.
Athena SWC and NgageContent have worked together as partners since June 2021, with NgageContent providing content strategy, copywriting, SEO, and web development services to Athena’s manufacturing clients. The two companies signed a purchase agreement and mutual release agreements in February 2026 to formalize the transition.
Under the agreement, Athena SWC acquires the operational assets used to hire, train, and manage the SEO program. The acquisition also included full-time employees, including an inbound strategist, copywriter, and web developer, who will join Athena SWC as part of the transition.
“We’re positioned to make a greater impact for our clients,” said Chris Mays, Director of Operations. “By having the people, process, and technology fully under Athena, it allows us to further enhance and strengthen our services.”
The acquisition gives Athena SWC internal control over the full scope of its SEO and content services. With an experienced team now under one roof, the company can scale these capabilities without relying on an external partner for day-to-day execution.
“When we developed our five-year strategic plan, one of our early initiatives was to bring SEO and inbound marketing in-house,” said Todd Zielinski, Athena Managing Director and CEO. “Having direct control over these capabilities lets us implement process improvements, scale intentionally, and protect the margins we need as we grow. We’ve long believed inbound marketing and SEO to be a core driver of Athena’s future growth.”
As AI tools continue to evolve, that decision has become even more relevant. We see AI aligning naturally with our long-term inbound strategy. Keeping these capabilities internal gives us the flexibility to plan for and integrate AI into our strategy moving forward.”
NgageContent will continue to provide web hosting and operational support during the transition period, ensuring uninterrupted service for Athena’s clients.
